CALVERT CITY — Kent Thomas “Hook” Hoover, 62, of Calvert City died Thursday at 2:50 a.m. at his home.
Kent was born on May 14, 1950, in Paducah. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. He had worked for Stacy Motors and owned his own auto body repair business. He was a frequent participant in the yearly Toys for Tots fundraiser.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Theresa Barnhill Hoover; his mother, JoAnn Hildreth Butler of Paducah; a son, Jason Hoover of Sharpe; two grandchildren, Hannah and Gunner Hoover; a stepson, Luke Inglish of Benton; a sister, Brenda (Jim) Tinsley of Grand Rivers; a niece, Sarah Tinsley; and aunts and uncles, Arlene and Doug Brown, Kenneth and Carolyn Hoover, Jerry Hoover, and John and Lawanda Hoover.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Raymond Hoover.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home with Jerry Hoover officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
