AURORA — Kelly Renee Penix and Joseph Michael Kelley were united in marriage Oct. 15 at Kenlake State Resort Park in Aurora with Rhea Bowles officiating. Music was provided by Kerry Kendall.

The bride is the daughter of Terry and Teresa Penix of Paducah. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Penix of Lone Oak and the late William E. Penix, and Dorothy King of Bardwell and the late Robert H. King.

The groom is the son of Mike and Bev Kelley of Mayfield, and Claire Kelley of Mayfield. He is the grandson of the late Eddie and Betty Kelley, and the late Effie and Luther Weaver.

The bride chose Meghan McNulty Rykwalder of Owensboro, as her matron of honor. Erika Kelley, daughter of the groom, served as bridesmaid.

The groom chose his brother, James Kelley of Nashville, Tenn., as his best man. Eric Seavers of Fancy Farm served as groomsman. Ushers were Chris Kelley of Mayfield, brother of the groom, and Lance Penix of Paducah, brother of the bride.

A reception followed at the resort pavilion. Beka Grider of Clarksville, Tenn., Shelby Fortner of Benton and Emma Steff of Bowling Green attended the guest register.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2001 and a master’s degree in social work in 2007 from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. She is pursuing her clinical license while employed as treatment director at Necco Therapeutic Foster Care Agency in Paducah.

The groom is a 1992 graduate of Graves County High School and is employed as a consumer safety inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture at Pilgrim’s Pride in Mayfield.

They reside in Mayfield.
