Kathrain (Kathy Sue) Boyd, 66, of Paducah, passed away Monday October 8, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.

She was born July 25, 1946, and was the widow of Mayford J. Boyd. A life-long resident of Paducah, she attended Paducah Tilghman High School and worked for the Shirt Factory 1961 until it closed and Western Sizzlin 1976 until they closed but most of all enjoyed her employment as a bus driver for the Paducah City and St. Francis School system as she was fondly remembered by many of the children on her routes. Later she became an avid quilter and was continually working on “projects and gifts” for family, friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Boyd is survived by her two children, William D. Boyd of Paducah and Theresa Boyd (Randy) Arnold of Paducah; one granddaughter, Sherece N. Boyd of Paducah; one sister, Carolyn (Tom) McConnell of Lexington; one niece, Roxanne (Michael) Cloyd of Glasgow, Ky; Mrs. Boyd’s extended family also includes Katherine, Lawrence, and Litiz Arnold of Paducah.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia C. Scott; brother, Robert Culver; and sister, Anna Gail Smith.

Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lindsey Funeral Home, 226 North 4th Street, Paducah, Ky.

A private ash scattering and memorial service is being planned at a later date.
