CALVERT CITY — Juanita E. Rhodes, age 76, of Calvert City, Ky., died Monday, December 24, 2012, at the home of her son in Calvert City, Ky.

She was retired as a self-employed hairstylist. Mrs. Rhodes was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and was the Lake Francise Estate Community president for eight years.

She was the daughter of the late John Ransom and the late Margaret Florence (Barnae) Ransom.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence A. Rhodes of Calvert City, Ky.; two sons, Richard “Rick” Rhodes and wife Darla, Calvert City, Ky., and Daniel Rhodes of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Lynda Freeman of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Clarence Ransom of Cannelton, Ind., and Junior Ransom of English, Ind.; three grandchildren, Arron Rhodes of Lexington, Ky., Krystal Humphrey of Calvert City, Ky., and Jacob Rhodes of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Loretta Oxley.

A memorial service will be held at St. Pius X on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Father Antoni Ottagan officiating.
