MAYFIELD — Mr. and Mrs. Bud Nelson of Mayfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.

Mr. Nelson and the former Margaret Juan Chapman were married Aug. 12, 1961, in Chicago.

Mrs. Nelson is the daughter of the late J.W. and Marie Chapman.

Mr. Nelson is the son of the late Alton and Gertrude Nelson.

They have two children: Susan Green of Mayfield and Brett Nelson of Hampton, Iowa; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
