WINGO — Joy Seavers, 79, of the Pilot Oak community died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday at her home.

She was a member of Pilot Oak Church of Christ, and was a legal secretary at Murray State University.

Survivors include one son, Fred Seavers of Pilot Oak; one stepdaughter, Sherry Lynn Mitchum of Anniston, Ala.; four grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Seavers Jr.; one stepson, Billy Wayne Seavers; four brothers; and an infant sister.

Her parents were Henry S. and Georgia Ruth Goodwin.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Seavers Family Cemetery in Pilot Oak with the Rev. Matthew Dixon officiating.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield.
