MURRAY — John Walter Brinkley Jr., 91, of Murray died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.
He was retired from Union Carbide, where he worked as a chemical operator for 33 years. He served in World War II with the Army Air Corps, and he was a member and elder of Green Plain Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Brinkley Berhow of Hazel; one son, John W. Brinkley III of Magnolia, Texas; one brother, William R. Brinkley of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Walker Brinkley. His parents were John Walter and Fannie Floyd Brinkley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Virgil Hale and Tip Curd officiating. Burial will follow in Green Plain Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at the funeral home.
