CALVERT CITY — Mr. Joe P. Hulen, age 83, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Calvert City, Ky., passed away August 13, 2012, at the Nathan Adelson Hospice Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev.

Born November 25, 1928, in Calvert City, Ky., he was a graduate of the Calvert City High School, where he went on to enlist in the U.S. Navy, where he later retired as Chief Petty Officer after 22 years of faithful service. He also worked for a time at GAF in Calvert City, Ky., and later retired from ARAMCO in 1984.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Marty” (Addison) Hulen of Las Vegas, Nev.; and one son, Joe Pat Hulen of Sugar Land, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys (Dunn) Hulen and Lex Hulen; two sons, David Lex Hulen and Michael Duffy; also preceded by one sister, Anna Marie Schill.

Memorial Services with Military Honors will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the Briensburg Cemetery, Benton, Ky. Rev. George T. Culp will officiate. Interment is to follow after the service. There is no visitation scheduled. Friends may call at the Briensburg Cemetery Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m.
