CUNNINGHAM — Jimmy Long, age 77, of Cunningham, passed away at 3 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2012, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.

Mr. Long was a member of Bardwell Church of Christ, where he was a former Elder.

He was a retired supervisor for Commonwealth Gas Company and he loved to play golf.

He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Long of Cunningham; sons, Gary Long and wife, Tiffany of Bardwell and Terry and Cindy Long of Clarksville, Tenn.; sisters, Debra Cloud of Kerrville, Texas, Mona Dunnell of The Villages, Fla.; grandchildren, Alan Long, Amanda Shields, Marybeth Long, Mykenzie Long, James Long, Alex Long, Sabrina Gilbert, Stefanie Stagges, Forrest Long, Nichole Slivinski, Evan and Olivia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Elizabeth Templeton Long; and son, Larry Brian Long.

Funeral services for Jimmy Long will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Bardwell Church of Christ with Michael Trivette and Jay Berry officiating.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, at the church. Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell is in charge of the arrangements.
