MURRAY — Jewell Norman Mardis, 75, of Murray died at 2 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Oakview Nursing Home in Calvert City.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from General Motors.

He is survived by one daughter, Donna Mardis Ingalls of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sons, Harold Gene Mardis of Indianapolis, and Joel Mardis of Murray; one sister, Shirley Joyce of Murray; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Sue Mardis; one sister; and one brother. His parents were John Fredrick and Verbena (McGregor) Mardis.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with Al Colley Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Stewart Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 73.

Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
