Jess Davis, 74, of West Paducah, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at 2:50 a.m. at his residence.
Jess was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, a native of Bandana, Ky., and a U.S. Army and Navy veteran, having served during the Cold War era. He was a 46-year member of Grahamville Masonic Lodge #707, where he served as past Master, and was a recipient of the Sword of Bunker Hill. Jess was a Past Patron of Grahamville Order of the Eastern Star #494 and served as Grand Officer of OES. He was a retired machinist with T.V.A.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Adams Davis; two daughters, Sandy Hampleman of Gilbertsville, Ky., and Mischelle (Stanley) Mitchell of West Paducah, Ky.; one sister, Catherine Armstrong of La Center, Ky.; one brother, Richard (Barbara) Redfern of Kevil, Ky.; three grandchildren, Marisa (Corey) Brown, Travis (Sarah) Peeler, and Charles (Sarah) Mitchell; and five great-grandchildren, Ethan Brown, Aiden Brown, Kylie Peeler, Noah Mitchell and Savannah Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Raymond Willard and Mabel Ailene Duncan Davis.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Harmony Baptist Cemetery in West Paducah with Rev. Wayne Carter officiating.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, after 5 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Masonic rites will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by Grahamville Masonic Lodge #707.
