DEXTER, Mo. — James Richard Algood, son of the late James Harrison Algood and Altheline Harper Algood, was born on September 19, 1956, in Paducah, Kentucky, and departed this life at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, on December 13, 2012, at the age of 56.
Mr. Algood was a resident of Dexter and he was a member of the Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden, Missouri. He was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and as a foreman at Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid, Missouri.
He was united in marriage to Debra Joy Tracer on June 30, 2001, in Malden, Missouri. Debra preceded him in death on August 25, 2010.
He is survived by one son, Jeremy Algood of Bernie, Missouri; by one stepson, David T. Miller of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by one stepdaughter, Cara M. Dillinger of Bernie, Missouri; and by two stepgrandchildren, Nate and Alexa Dillinger.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Alan Dale Algood, and by one sister, Margaret Algood.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Dan Hargrave officiating.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Palma, Ky.
