MAYFIELD — Mr. James William “J.W.” Reynolds, age 88, of West Memphis, Arkansas formerly of Mayfield, died on Saturday peacefully at his residence.
He was a retired supervisor for Curlee Clothing Co., and was a former member of the Northside Church of Christ in Mayfield, Kentucky, where he was an Elder for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and was a Medical Corpsman attached to the fifth Marine Division and lost his leg during the Battle of Iwo Jima. He has been a member of the Marion Church of Christ since 2001.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by one daughter, Ardith Bradshaw of West Memphis, Ark., one granddaughter, Lauren Bradshaw McCraken of Marion, Ark.; and one great-granddaughter, Julia Adams McCraken.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Claydean Adams Reynolds.
Visitation will be Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Marion Church of Christ on Highway 64 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky., with Mike Tucker and Richard Adams officiating. Interment will be at Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield, Ky. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 12 p.m. noon until the funeral hour.
