HARDIN — Mr. James Philip Pritchard, 89, of Hardin, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at his home in Hardin. Born June 25, 1923, in Marshall County, he was retired from Pennwalt where he worked as a pipefitter. Mr. Pritchard was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was the son of the late Truman Pritchard and the late Dora (Crouch) Pritchard.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Frances (Tucker) Pritchard of Hardin; two daughters, Sharon Lents and husband Roger of Benton and Linda Outland and husband Bobby of Hardin; sisters, Louise Boggess of Hardin, Sylvia Baldwin of Golo, and Jean Hamlin of Mayfield; brother, Ambress Pritchard of Kingston, Tenn.; grandchildren, Angela Lindsey of Benton, Rebecca Outland of Paducah, Evan Lents and wife Tamra of Calvert City, Chaz Lents of Lexington, Tyson Lents of Benton; and great-grandchildren, McKenna Lindsey of Benton, Kolton Lindsey of Benton, Karson Lents of Calvert City, and Kalan Whiteside of Calvert City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Edmond Pritchard, Lynn Pritchard, Finis Pritchard, and Foy Pritchard; and two sisters, Fern Mayo and Hazel Collins.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012, in the Chapel of Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Josh Herndon will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at the Union Hill Cemetery in Hardin.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012, until the funeral hour at Collier Funeral Home.
