GRAND RIVERS — James W. Brown, 82, of Grand Rivers passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Mr. Brown retired as a crane operator for the former SKW plant in Calvert City, Ky. He was a member of Iuka First Baptist Church in Livingston County and was a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice Howell Brown; two sons, James Brown Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Smithland, and Jerry Brown and his wife Paula of Fredonia; one daughter, Jacqueline Hackney and her husband Danny of Grand Rivers; six grandchildren, Kayla Brown, Kari (Kevin) Garner, Elizabeth Brown, Andrea (Jonathan) Hubbard, Kendra (Chris) Glenn, and Nathan (Kendra) Hackney; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan Garner, Joshua and Sidney Hubbard, Brady and Mia Glenn, Ciara and Kennadee Hackney.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Brown, and his parents, Earl Joseph Brown and Callie Elizabeth Day Brown.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Iuka Cemetery in Livingston County.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.
