MURRAY — Ira Rudy Tripp Sr., 82, of Murray died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
Mr. Tripp retired as a barge line engineer for Crounse Corp. in Paducah after 24 years of service. He served as a trustee for Friendship Cemetery and was a member of Glendale Road Church of Christ. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie Ann Lassiter Tripp; one daughter, Cindy Lassiter of Murray; two sons, Rudy Tripp Jr. of Murray and Jimmy Allen Tripp of Spokane, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Scarlett Tripp Mathis; one sister; and two brothers. His parents were Ira Murphy Tripp and Ruby Dove Whaley Tripp.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale and Jason Hart officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5–8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the funeral home.
