“Les
Misérables”
Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, “Les Misérables” tells the story of ex-prisoner Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
The buzz: As with many musicals, “Les Miserables” is a love-it-or-hate-it affair. Fans of the theatrical version won’t be too disappointed, but others might be put off by its length and the sour notes some of the actors hit.
Length: 158 min.
Show times: 11:20 a.m., 2:45 p.m., 6:10 p.m., 9:35 p.m. at Cinemark.
