Tower Heist

Most people would look at this and see the potential for a very corny robbery movie. Me? I see nothing but potential. Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy know comedy, and the ensemble cast they put together to play these Robin Hood-type thieves can bring you to your knees. An added bonus is the relative topic: A businessman ruins the lives of his employees by stealing from their pensions. These guys are people everyone can root for.

The buzz: ‘Tower Heist’ has the potential to be a funnier “Oceans 12.” It’s also the perfect date movie — action, comedy, and a tiny bit of romance to go around.

Showing at: Cinemark, 5159 Hinkleville Road.

Movie times: Thursday, 12:01 a.m., Friday, noon, 2:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday.

Harold and Kumar

In 2004, the very first Harold and Kumar movie came to theaters. Seven years later, not much has changed. Although the movie has its funny moments, there’s yet another crazy plot with the two friends who can’t seem to stop smoking the reefer. The only difference between this movie and previous Harold and Kumar movies is that this one is in 3D, and has some animation. After four movies, the only thing we can wonder is when is this going to end?

The buzz: Check this one out when it comes on DVD. It may have funny moments, and Neil Patrick Harris will undoubtedly be engaging in more hi-jinx, but it’s not work the price of admission.

Showing at: Cinemark, 5159 Hinkleville Road.

Movie times: Thursday, 12:01 a.m.,
