CALVERT CITY — Harrel C. Freeman, 80, of Calvert City, passed away surrounded by his family at 5 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.
Harrel was a retired truck driver with Quality Carriers and attended Southland Baptist Temple for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of American Legion Post #144, and the Calvert City Masonic Lodge #543 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Irene Keeling Freeman of Calvert City; two sons, Dr. Steve Freeman and Bob (Donna) Freeman, all of Calvert City; three sisters, Edna Farmer, Alice Dick and Shirley Cunningham, all of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Todd (Jennifer) Freeman, Chad (Mindy) Freeman, Nathan (Kristie) Freeman, Amanda (Curtis) Bohannon, Dr. Bryan (Brea) Freeman, Michael Freeman and Lynsey Freeman; 12 great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Lynn Freeman; one brother, James Freeman; and one sister, Janice Kay Freeman. His parents were William Cletus Freeman and Gladys Marie Newton Freeman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Rev. James Keeling and Dr. Harold Council will officiate with special remembrances from his grandchildren. Burial will follow in the Calvert City Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home, where Masonic rites will be at 7 p.m.
