OLMSTED, Ill. — Services for Grace Marie Britt, 86, of Olmsted will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Center United Methodist Church in Olmsted with Kenny Baker officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
Mrs. Britt died at 8:31 p.m. (ET) Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in Charlottesville, Va.
Mrs. Britt formerly taught school at the one-room Concord School, located on her property.
She was a member of Center United Methodist Church and served as its secretary and treasurer for many years.
She was a licensed and emergency amateur radio operator and certified as an instructor and a 50-year member of Eastern Star Caledonia No. 587 of Olive Branch.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Inman of Charlottesville; one son, Dr. James F. Britt of Dawson Springs, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George A. Britt; one son, Rodney George Britt; four sisters, and one brother.
Her parents were Frank Schultz and Maude “White” Schultz.
Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, where Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. Visitation at the church will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.
