Glendine “Byrl” Gast, age 82, of Paducah, went home to be with the Lord at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, from Lourdes hospital.
Born in Oldom, Indiana, Byrl was of the Presbyterian faith. She was the former owner of Cardinal Lanes Bowling Alley. Byrl enjoyed bowling, fishing, trips to Florida, and spending time with her family on their houseboat at Kentucky Lake.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Brenda Krug and Peggy Dean, both of Paducah; a stepson, Mike Gast Jr. of Southaven, Mississippi; and five grandchildren, Kristy Robinson and Terri Nelson, both of Paducah, Mickey Gast of Lexington Park, Maryland, Staff Sgt. Eric Gast, serving with the United States Air Force, and Bobbie Dean of Sanford, Fla.; along with several great-grandchildren.
Byrl was preceded in death by her three beloved sons, Scott Dean, Larry Dean, and William Krug; her husband, Mike Gast Sr.; and her parents, Robert and Laura Miller.
A memorial service to celebrate Byrl’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will be at a later time.
Friends may visit with the family after 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
