METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mr. and Mrs. Gene Fletcher of Metropolis celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 11 with a family dinner at a Paducah restaurant.

Mr. Fletcher and the former Sue Rice were married June 11, 1951, in El Paso, Texas.

Mr. Fletcher retired from Electric Energy Inc. in Joppa.

They have two children: Steve Fletcher and Deidra Jacobs, both of Metropolis; four grandchildren; three stepgrandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
