Ms. Tracy B. DeFreitas and Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Garrett of Paducah announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Cates Garrett, to Clayton Samuel Wells, son of Ray and Barbara Wells of Morganfield.

Miss Garrett is the granddaughter of Shirley Hundley of Paducah, J.T. Bowland of Clarksville, Tenn., Betty Garrett of Paducah and the late Robert H. Garrett Sr. She is a 2001 graduate of Heath sports_high_school and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2006 from Murray State University, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in education administration. She is employed as a teacher with Union County Public Schools in Morganfield.

Mr. Wells is the grandson of Mary Jane Wells of Pride and the late Samuel Wells, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. O’Nan Sr. He is a 1998 graduate of Union County sports_high_school and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agriculture education from Murray State University, where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Mr. Wells is employed with the state of Kentucky as the property valuation administrator for Union County.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 7 p.m. June 18 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield, with a reception following at Camp Breckinridge Museum and Arts Center. All family and friends are invited. Only out-of-town invitations are being sent.
