CADIZ — Ferrell Schmeing, 84, of Cadiz died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was a retired switchman from L&N Railroad in Evansville, and was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by five sons, Douglas Schmeing, Raymond J. Angel, and Larry Schmeing, all of Evansville,  Donald W. Angel of Newburgh, Ind., and Gregory A. Angel of Cadiz; six daughters, Sally Townsend, Teresa Schmitt, Marinell Burns, and Lisa Fitzgerald, all of Evansville, and Terri Morrow Angel and Teresa Fowler, both of Cadiz; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Lee Smallwood Schmeing, and two sons, Michael A. Schmeing and DeWayne Angel. His parents were Gustave and Marie Schmeing.

Services will be held later. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
