CLINTON — Mr. Elvis Hazel Bugg, 92, of Clinton passed away at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
He was a member of Clinton First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was a self-employed farmer, was a pioneer of no-till farming practices, and was known for his winning vegetables at County Fairs.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dortha Fay Floyd Bugg of Clinton; one son, Larry Dean (Sheila) Bugg of Clinton; two daughters, Sharon Boaz (Richard) Cagle of Clinton and Traci Bugg (Chuck) Williams of Jackson, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Christy) Bugg of Union City, Tenn., Ashley (Michael) Cirkles of South Fulton, Tenn., Christi Boaz (Doug) McClure of Evansville, Ind., Shawn (Leah) Boaz of Clinton, Derek Williams and David Williams, both of Jackson, Tenn.; three stepgrandchildren, Rick Cagle of Rives, Tenn., Greg Cagle of Murray, and Chad Cagle of Lexington; eight great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J. Sam and Nellie Reese Bugg; two brothers, Weldon Bugg and James Bugg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Kevin Clark and the Rev. David Gossum officiating.
Burial will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
