Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elfen of Paducah announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Elfen, to Dr. Robert Scott Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnston of Findlay, Ohio.

Miss Elfen is a graduate of St. Mary High School and Transylvania University with a bachelor’s degree in studio art. She earned an advanced degree in footwear accessory design at Polimoda in Florence, Italy. She resides in New York City and is the creative director and owner of a bridal handbag and accessories company.

Dr. Johnston is a graduate of Findlay High School, Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He is a resident physician at New York Harbor Health Care in New York City.

An October wedding is planned in Paducah.
