Mr. and Mrs. Paul Boyce Drake of Lexington announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Furrie Drake, to Scott Thomas McElroy, son of Dr. and Mrs. Bradley Burton McElroy of Paducah.

Miss Drake is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Furrie of Cox’s Creek and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Drake of Bardstown. She is a 2007 graduate of Paul Lawrence Dunbar sports_high_school in Lexington and a 2011 graduate of Georgetown College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She is an alumna of Sigma Kappa fraternity and is employed by the Fayette County Public Schools in Lexington.

Mr. McElroy is the grandson of Mrs. Gwen Thomas of Paducah and the late William Thomas, and Dr. and Mrs. Wayne McElroy of Paducah. He is a 2005 graduate of Paducah Tilghman sports_high_school and a 2009 graduate of Georgetown College with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is an alumnus of President’s House Association and is attending the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington.

Wedding vows will be exchanged June 18 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington.
