CALVERT CITY — Mr. and Mrs. Doug Coakley of Calvert City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner with their children and grandchildren on June 22. A trip to Alaska is planned for a later date.
Mr. Coakley and the former Patty Vaughn were married June 21, 1963, in the prayer chapel of Broadway Methodist Church in Paducah by Dr. David M. Hilliard. Their attendants were Gay Williams and Ned Bogie.
Mrs. Coakley is the daughter of the late Ralph and Burnell Vaughn. She retired from the Marshall County School District after teaching 27 years.
Mr. Coakley is the son of the late Jim and Margie Coakley. He retired from Westlake in Calvert City.
They have two children: Karen Coakley Long of North Salt Lake, Utah, and Douglas Price Coakley Jr. of Massac County, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.
