BENTON — David A. Lahaie, 71, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012, in Kalamazoo, Mich.

He was born on September 20, 1940, in Joliet, Ill., the son of Arthur and Helen Lahaie.

Years ago, he served honorably with the United States Navy. He had been employed as a steel mill fireman and a steel worker on the production line for 25 years at the Gary, Ind., plant.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

On August 6, 1966, he was united in marriage to Dorothy A. (Watkins) Lahaie, who survives. Dave and Dottie retired in 2004 and made Aurora, Ky., their new home.

David is also survived by two sons, Michael Lahaie of Mattawan, Mich., and Jeffrey Lahaie of Valparaiso, Ind.; two grandsons, Clint and Cody Lahaie of Mattawan; three brothers, Eugene (Joyce) Lahaie of Hobart, Ind., Jack Lahaie of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tony (Susan) Lahaie of Valparaiso, Ind.; and many extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Aurora Christian Church in Aurora, Ky., (located behind Belew’s Drive-In Restaurant).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Aurora Christian Church, 8100 Aurora Highway, Benton, KY 42025.
