SEDALIA — Services for Codie D. Guthrie, 93, of Sedalia will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Byrn Funeral Chapel in Mayfield with Dr. Donald Badgley officiating. Burial will be in Massac Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Guthrie died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Murray and Knights Templar of Mayfield. He was a retired innkeeper for Holiday Inn of Salem, Ill., and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. Guthrie is survived by his son, Larry Codie Guthrie of Fallbrook, Calif.; two daughters, Shirley Coltharp of Sedalia and Linda Dianne Newton of New Caney, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvenia Walter Guthrie; his daughter, Barbara Coltharp; two brothers; and one sister. His parents were Edward and Elizabeth Shultz Guthrie.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at the funeral home.
