CADIZ — Charles C. “Charlie” West Sr. of Cadiz died Thursday at Princeton Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He retired from the U.S. Armed Forces, served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Air Corps/Air Force during World War II, and served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.

He is survived by his wife, Iva Adams West; two sons, Charles West Jr. of Cadiz and David Wayne West of Hopkinsville; one daughter, Tamera West of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister. His parents were Charles Curtis West II and Minnie Bell Freeman West.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Boyd officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Adams Cemetery in Cadiz. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
