HARDIN — Mr. Charles Thomas Norwood, 83, of Hardin, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, at 11:58 p.m. at his home in Hardin.
Born Friday, February 21, 1930, in Olive, Kentucky, he was a farmer and was a retired chemical operator for B.F. Goodrich Chemical Company in Calvert City. He was a member of the Olive Baptist Church in Olive.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Carrol (Watkins) Norwood of Hardin; two sons, John Leyton Norwood and wife Jayne of Hardin and Phil Thomas Norwood and wife Diane of Hardin; one daughter, Cindy Odom of Hardin; four grandchildren, Vanessa McGregor and husband Josh of Benton, Ragan Mitchell and husband Eric of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Eric King and wife Casey of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Charles Henry Odom of Paducah; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Louie Norwood and Lois (Henderson) Norwood; a daughter, Lanora Gail King; and a brother, James Franklin Norwood.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Johnny Phillips officiating. Interment will follow the service in Barnett Cemetery in Hardin.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
