Charles E. Gregory, 75, of Paducah, was born into this life November 21, 1937, then born again into his eternal life November 28, 2012.

Mr. Gregory was born in Evansville, Ind., to Thomas Manning Gregory Sr. and Leona Gertrude (Hines) Gregory. He was a graduate of Memorial High School in Evansville, Ind., and while in high school he started his own TV repair shop. He attended Murray State University and University of Evansville. He was a journeyman master electrician and a certified manufacturing and design engineer.

Mr. Gregory was a very active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Paducah where he served in many capacities, including a member of the Parish Council. He was a Cantor Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Catholic Cursillo and Ecumenical Cursillo. He was a 4th Degree Knight and life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a board member of St. Mary Schools.

He was also a train and cruise adventurer, Boy Scout Leader, foster parent, a Kentucky Colonel, and a Duke of Paducah.

More importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a good and holy man who was so deeply loved by family, friends and all those who had the privilege to know him.

Charles E. Gregory is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Gregory of Paducah; his daughters, Laura Rose Gregory Shaw and husband Steve of Paducah and Mary Anisia Gregory Warren and husband Jeff of Paducah; daughter-in-law, Michelle Cox and husband Phil of Grayslake, Ill.; grandchildren, Zachary Shaw and wife Leighann, Mary-Virginia Shaw Shultz and husband J. Daniel, Jacob Warren, Gabriel Shaw, Olivia Warren, Nathaniel Benjamin Cox, Owen Cox, and Ellie Cox; great-grandchildren, Kendall Shaw, Landon Willett, Peyton Shaw and Anna Grace Shultz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Benjamin Charles Gregory; sister, Rose Marie Gregory,  and a brother, Thomas Manning Gregory Jr.

A funeral Mass for Charles E. Gregory will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Brian Roby officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Gregory will begin at 4 p.m.  Friday, November 30, 2012, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Prayers being said at 7 p.m.
