LaDonna Umstead and Jeff Cavitt, both of Benton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimsey Sloane Cavitt, to Charles David Logue Jr., son of Judy and David Logue Sr. of Hendersonville, Tenn.

Miss Cavitt is the granddaughter of Carolyn and Sam Gregory of Paducah, and the late Gracie May Cavitt. She is a 2003 graduate of Marshall County High School in Benton and earned a bachelor’s degree in integrated strategic communications in 2007 from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is employed by Show Dog-Universal Music in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Logue is the grandson of the late Christine and L.D. Bowman, and the late Jimmie and Benton Logue. He is a 2000 graduate of Hendersonville High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in international business and language in 2005 from Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn. He is employed by Expeditors International of Washington, Inc., in Nashville.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at Wightman Chapel Scarritt-Bennett Center in Nashville.
