ROSICLARE, Ill. — Bobby Gene Goins, 82, of Rosiclare died at 6:34 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare.

He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked for several years as funeral director assistant for Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare and formerly owned Western Auto in Rosiclare. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a dual member of First Christian Church and Sardis Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Goins; five children, Rickie Jones of Lutz, Fla., Rhonda Beck of Cooks Mills, Robin Hughes of Wetumpka, Ala., Randee Walsh of Rosiclare, and Joey Goins of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. His parents were James Franklin “Frank “and Myrtle (Fulghum) Goins.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at First Christian Church in Rosiclare, with Jeff Hardy officiating. Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery near Rosiclare, with military rites. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the church.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
