ROSICLARE, Ill. — Betty Lou Hurford, 82, of Rosiclare, Ill., died at 7:32 p.m. Sunday at Hardin County General Hospital.
She was a member of the Rosiclare United Methodist Church and served on the Rosiclare Library Board for many years. She was co-owner of The Flower Basket in Rosiclare in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and worked part time at Hardin County Independent.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Williams of Elizabethtown, Ill., and Julia Smith of Galatia; two sisters, Linda Leggens of Harrisburg and Becky Brandt of Golconda; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Edwin Hurford; and one brother. Her parents were Fowler and Mary Curtis.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Rosiclare United Methodist Church with Haley Hausman officiating. Burial will follow at Empire Cemetery in Elizabethtown. Family may call after 10 a.m. and friends after 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.
