PADUCAH — Betty Q. Edwards 61, of Paducah, Kentucky died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Madge Elizabeth Quisenberry was born June 9, 1951 in Fort Meade, Maryland to William Edward and Louise Williams Quisenberry, and was better known as “Betty” to both her family and friends. Betty was a 1969 Graduate and class valedictorian of Calhoun High School, attended Centre College in Danville, a homemaker, and a member of the Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a member of La Petite Fleur Garden Club, a member of the Carson Center, contributed to the Western Kentucky Technical and Community College, a strong supporter of non-profit organizations, a member of the Yeiser Arts Center, where she served as a board member for more than ten years, a member of the country club of Paducah, a large supporter of her community, a hostess of the Annual Cheer Christmas Party, and a member of the birthday club. She loved spending time with both her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved the beach and was a great mentor to all who knew her. Betty was preceded in death by her father, William E. Quisenberry, Sr.
Survivors include a son, Alex Edwards and wife Nicole of Paducah; a daughter, Ashley Gissendanner and husband Tom of Santa Monica, California; three grandchildren, Sloane Edwards, Gray Edwards, and Piper Elizabeth Gissendanner, who is to arrive at any time; her mother, Louise Quisenberry of Calhoun; a brother, William E. Quisenberry Jr. and wife Julie of Calhoun; and a sister, Rebecca H. Stansbury and husband Tony of Rincon, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Gregory Waldrop officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Betty’s Family from 1 p.m. until time of services Thursday at Musters in Calhoun.
