BENTON — Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Ray Downs of Benton will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Patti’s restaurant. The couple request no gifts.

Mr. Downs and the former Bethel Ann Armstrong were married Jan. 30, 1953, by Paul J. Waller in Sharpe. Their attendants were Lyda Powers Garland and Martin Riley.

Mrs. Downs is a retired dental assistant. She is the daughter of the late Ritchie and Atlas Armstrong.

Mr. Downs is a retired ironworker with Ironworkers Local 782. He is the son of the late Pauline and Herbert Downs.

They are the parents of Sabrina Downs of Nashville, Tenn.
