Avis L. Parker, 89, peacefully passed away September 27, 2012. The Lord blessed our family with her love and compassion. She will be dearly missed. She was born in Kentucky but lived most of her life in El Paso, Texas.
Avis was a member of Scottsdale Baptist Church and retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. She was an active member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary she also crocheted blankets for the Project Linus. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Parker; sister, Lucille Buchanan; and a grandson, Ryan Parker.
She is survived by her sister, Pauline Lawson and her husband Vernon of El Paso, Tx.; her son, Herbert L. Parker and wife Nancy; her daughter, Catherine Parker Austin and her husband Keith of Tyler, Tx.; her grandchildren, Heather and Brian Seib, both of Tyler, Tx, James, Monique, and Lindsay Parker of New Orleans; great-grandchildren, Blake, Avery, and Hudson Seib, Rex and Ellie Parker; niece, Jean Lawson; and nephews, Rollie (Nancy) Lawson, Don (Nancy) Buchanan and Larry Buchanan.
