PALMA — Mr. and Mrs. Artie Alvey Petway of Palma celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a dinner hosted by their children and families on Jan. 7 at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville.

Mr. Petway and the former Melva Irine Koerner were married Jan. 3, 1942, by the Rev. Charles H. Gale at the YMCA building in Charleston, Mo. Their attendants were Evelyn Vasseur, sister of the groom, and Ray Draffen.

Mrs. Petway is the daughter of the late Gottleib William Koerner and Sophronia Herzog Koerner.

Mr. Petway is the son of the late Artie Owen Petway and Mary Mable Alvey Petway. He is a retired lifetime member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184.

They have three children: Arlene Fowler of Symsonia, Ronnie Petway of Benton and Randle Petway of Calvert City; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
