METROPOLIS, Ill. — Arthur Smith, 69, of Joppa, Ill., passed away at 10:10 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

Graveside services will be held 7 a.m. Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Hillerman Baptist Church Cemetery in Hillerman, Ill., with the Rev. Barry Dummitt officiating.

Arthur is survived by two sons, Tim Smith of Joppa, Ill., and James Smith of Metropolis, Ill.; one daughter, Linda Rodriguez and husband David of Metropolis, Ill.; two grandchildren, Ashley Smith Miller and husband Kyle of Gulfport, Miss., and Timothy A Smith Jr. and wife Alicia of Harrisburg, Ill.; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Nichole Miller of Gulfport, Miss., and Timothy Orin Smith of Harrisburg, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Smith; and his parents, Arthur Ray and Quanita Faye (Tyler) Smith.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis, Ill.
