Alpha Omega Harris Cook, 94, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Duluth, Ga.

Born in Paducah, she was a retired operator for Kentucky/Indiana Railroad and was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter #391, and Hurstbourne Baptist Church.

Alpha was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cook; and a daughter, Charlotte Wright.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Carrol Herbert; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Alpha’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Highlands.
