HICKMAN — Services for Allen Turner, 99, of Kokomo, Ind., formerly of Hickman, will be at 1:30 p.m. today, Jan. 5, 2013, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel in Union City, Tenn. Shawn Willis will officiate, with burial in Hickman City Cemetery.

Mr. Turner died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at his residence.

Mr. Turner was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Republic Steel Co. in Warren, Ohio. He was a member of Grace AME Church and attended Wayman AME Church.

He is survived by one son, James Turner; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Beatrice Akins Turner; one son, Allen Edward “Joe” Lyons Sr.; eight sisters and brothers, and one grandson. His parents were John Lesley Turner and Ida Sanford Turner.

Friends may call after noon today, Jan. 5, 2013, at the funeral home.
