Voter turnout biggest issue in the primary election

BY LEIGH ANN RENFRO Paducah

EDITOR:

I think the biggest issue in this upcoming primary election on May 20 will be voter turnout. Because there will be no presidential or city commission primary on the ballot (among others) for May 20, I hope that people will still turn up at the polls and vote for the candidate that they believe is most capable. Citizens of both Paducah and McCracken County can vote in this primary election.

I am extremely vested in this campaign season alongside my mother, Zana Renfro, and her bid for McCracken County Clerk. I know that all of the candidates and their friends and family members have spent so much time, energy, and effort on each of their campaigns, and I hope the voters prove that it was all worth it. Every citizen has been given the opportunity and right to learn about the candidates and vote for their favorite - so please go exercise that freedom on Tuesday, May 20.
