Serious observers have been wondering who initiated the lying by the government about the Benghazi terror attack for a couple of years. Recent revelations make it clear Obama is at the base. He was in the White House but didn't go to the Situation Room.
Secretary of State Clinton appears to be the focus of activity. Some hours into the attack she received calls from her senior people in Libya stating clearly that it was an Islamist siege overrunning the U.S. consulate. Around 10 p.m. she talked to the president. Nothing was done to assist and the military was ordered to stand down (while CIA security people expecting air support were being killed).
Not long after she put out word stressing that it was not Islamic terror/al Qaida-related but a protest gone out-of-hand in response to an anti-Islamic video. Both went out of their way pushing this lie as widely and publicly as possible and falsified documents were produced to support this theory.
Probably because somebody ignorant can sell a falsehood best, Susan Rice got her opportunity for fame being the face of this lie on all the Sunday morning talk shows. Pains were taken to suppress contradictory accurate information, officials in a position to know were suppressed, and some hapless scapegoat was arrested and thrown into jail in California because of his Internet video.
Strangely, the CIA director wasn't heard from. Several months into efforts by the government to make everything go away and smear anyone who dared question or dissent, General Petraeus resigned suddenly over a secret affair. Nobody in a position like the CIA director doesn't have counterintelligence people lurking around. When they noticed the unusual email activity connected to him, who do you think they would report it to considering the serious risk of compromise this represented? They appear to have known for quite a while. It seems obvious that Petraeus took it public and resigned to avoid being manipulated by his boss. Almost nobody knew about it until then.
Considering his Islamic upbringing in Indonesia and his statements regarding the religion, Obama is the only plausible person to have come up with the response to his conversation with Clinton that night. He took these deaths at the hands of terrorists so seriously that he went to bed, and went fundraising in California while directing that references to Islam be sanitized.
