Public participation welcome at memorial for fallen officers

By OFFICER ERIC TAYLOR Chaplain Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 15

EDITOR:

The Jackson Purchase Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 15 would like to extend an invitation to you, your family and affiliates to attend the Peace Officer Memorial Service. This year's service will be held Monday, May 12, at the McCracken County Courthouse front lawn. The ceremony will begin at noon and will be followed by a reception in the McCracken Regional Jail lobby, hosted by McCracken County Jailer Bill Adams.

In 2013, 105 peace officers gave their lives in the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, while upholding the peace and security we enjoy each day. Monday, May 12, is the first day of Peace Officers Memorial Week and the day we choose each year to join together in remembrance, honor, and thanks to the men and women who have devoted themselves to preserving our freedoms with their lives.

We would be honored and privileged to have your presence at this memorial ceremony where we join in giving prayer and respect to the great servants of this blessed nation.
