The upcoming race for Kentucky senator is a subject of debate with many. On the one hand, we have Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has been in government his entire adult life; on the other, Matt Bevin, who owns a company and has had first-hand experience saving jobs, balancing budgets, and working in the private sector.
Mr. Bevin is a father of nine, four of whom he adopted from Ethiopia. He is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, and a proud concealed carry gun owner who opposes higher taxes, bigger government and bailouts.
Samuel Adams once said, "If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." Matt Bevin fulfills the second description: He is a former U.S. Army captain, is not a career politician, and could help to save our country in the way he saved his family business.
Sen. McConnell has been circulating ads against Mr. Bevin, which, if the content were true, should strike fear into the hearts of all Bevin supporters. But they are not true, nor even based on fact. I suggest that those who care to know the truth visit mudslingingmitch.com, where Mr. Bevin explains and refutes the charges Sen. McConnell has leveled against him.
Mr. Bevin will be at the Julian Carroll Convention Center gun show from noon to 2 p.m. today, March 15. I encourage anyone and everyone to attend, so that they may hear what Mr. Bevin has to say and make an informed decision regarding the elections this year.
