Newspaper complains regardless of what action Fiscal Court takes

By EARL T. DICKERSON Paducah

EDITOR:

Your editorials are confusing. On Jan. 22 you complain the McCracken County commissioners act too quickly: they determined that if money was legally owed a former employee as part of his salary package, it should be paid. They appointed their attorney to make that decision. So far the vote is, "Obey the law. Don't get the county sued."

You say the money shouldn't have been paid. Nothing was said by you of the extra liability that would have been incurred by our county had such action been taken. Please check with legal counsel before giving editorial opinion. We have already done enough stupid things in this community. My advice to you is have nothing to do with the labor relations at the newspaper. The Sun is sinking fast enough as it is.

Then on Jan. 29 you claim that same group acted too slowly. Maybe they were taking your earlier advice too much to heart. The one thing I've noticed is that no matter what they do, you complain.
