Democrats' policies prevent creation of jobs we need

After listening to President Obama's State of the Union speech I think we can all agree that more jobs are needed and that people have to be given the opportunity to succeed. Unfortunately his own party has done everything in their power to make this impossible. Obamacare by itself has already cost and will continue to cost many, many jobs. Other jobs have been reduced to part-time to avoid the consequences of this act. Add to this excessive government regulations put on businesses since the Democrats took the Senate in 2006.

Congress has already approved construction of the Keystone pipeline. This administration has blocked this job-creator at every turn. Many other pipeline projects are needed, for example to recover gas from North Dakota rather than burn it off due to no means to save it and to transport propane gas to areas such as ours that desperately need this fuel to heat homes and cook meals. Again this administration does not like pipelines.

In the years since 2006 the United States has dropped out of the top 10 countries in economic freedom. This is reflected in the millions of jobs that have gone overseas to avoid our excess regulations and our high corporate income taxes.

While the Democrats continue to claim that they want to create jobs it is their policies that prevent job creation. They must come to the realization that as Pogo said, "We have met the enemy and he is us" pertains to them.
