Henry J. Batts, 97, passed away on June 11, 2018, in Nashville, Tennessee.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Kathryn Crisp Batts. Mr. Batts is survived by his daughters, Debbie Maxwell (Larry) and Diane Hester (Bill Turner); grandchildren, Shannon Daniel, Robert Hester, Henry Todd Maxwell, Adam Maxwell, Emily Gnetz; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Batts was a resident of Paducah, Kentucky, for 65 years where he was the manager and part owner of Rhodes-Burford Furniture Company. He was also a deacon of First Baptist Church of Paducah and a WWII veteran. He and Kathryn served as Paducah Ambassadors for many years.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky, with Steven Meriwether officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church of Nashville, 222 Belle Meade Blvd., Nashville, TN 37205.

Arrangements are being handled by Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee.
